This past August, my family spent a day at one of the most famous castles in England. Warwick was a massive site, one of the biggest we have visited to date, with sprawling grounds and acres of green lawns to traverse. It took almost fifteen minutes just to wind our way out of the car park!
Inside the grounds, you can get lost in their maze, walk the tower walls, or explore the great hall. But be on the lookout! There’s archers and noblemen walking around the grounds, ready to answer questions or give a demonstration. It’s impossible to visit the castle and not be entertained in some way.
And while the high traffic Warwick sees was a bit of a deterrent, I’m glad we went and checked out all that was offered. The falconry show was one of the best I’ve ever seen. Highly recommend if you have a bird lover in the family.
If you are looking for a complete medieval experience, Warwick Castle also has glamping tents you can sleep in for the night. We did not participate in that excursion, but the grounds looked mighty impressive. It would, no doubt, make for a memorable weekend outing!
